Sedona, AZ: A Trail Near Munds Mountain

My bro-in-law's mother-in-law was my hiking partner on Sunday. Since She spends her time in Sedona whenever she can, I asked her to pick the trail for us to hike.  While we were in her pickup truck heading to the trail, we noticed some snow flakes.  The trailhead was not easy to find from the street.  Luckily, an older gentleman with a cute black lab kindly told us that it is by the parking lot for the Chapel of the Holy Cross.  It felt pretty cold even with five layers of clothing on my torso.  We agreed that we can always turn around if the weather gets nastier.  It was interesting to see the other side of  rocks and mountains I saw yesterday on the Courthouse Butte Loop. We kept walking passed Chicken Point toward Munds Mountain.  The view was amazing...we had to stop every 5-10 minutes to enjoy constant changes in scenery.  The sun came out for a little while, however, we knew we should head back when the chilly wind started to shake surrounding cypress trees and huge cloud covered the mountain.  After being on the trail for a little over 3 hours, we were ready for some hot tea!
